Looking Forward to 2012

2012 promises to be an exciting year for the Arizona Print Group. This year we celebrate the tenth anniversary of the group. To commemorate this event members are creating an edition of prints measuring 10 inches square. The prints will be bound into handmade books.

Our first group show will be held during Art Detour, March 17th and 18th, at the Arizona Center. We will post a formal announcement once the details are final.

Thank you to our friends who have supported the Arizona Print Group. We look forward to visiting with you in 2012.

Arizona Print Group at the Northern Arizona University Art Museum

Two years ago the members of APG agreed to participate in a print exchange titled “Passport Required,” a collection of works intended to reflect the boundaries, borders, and restrictions that define the human condition. Each member pulled an edition of 30 prints to exchange with each other and to share with our community. In November, 2009, on behalf of the print group, Wendy Willis and Marlys Kubicek met with George Speer, Director of the NAU Art Museum, who was delighted to accept the exchange prints. The NAU Art Museum in Flagstaff is no stranger to fine art printmaking. They have hosted the Biennial National Print Exhibition over the past 10 years. This year, to all of our delights, they simultaneously hung the Passport Required exchange prints to coincide with the biennial exhibition.  The show ended September 25th.
