Marjorie Rogers

My works expressed in the etching process are intended to create compositions from symbols and designs from American Indians.

I have been living in the Southwest all of my life and the symbols and designs have always been a part of my visual environment and are inspirational in my work. These symbols and designs have meaning to them and are mostly related to what is in our environment, such as, clouds, rain, mountains, birds, sky and animals of all kinds.

Most of the symbols and designs have a linear quality to this which is compatible to the etching process. The message I attempt to project in the etching is a visual balance and harmony which we can use in our daily living.
